dc.description.abstract This study examined the effects of ethical procurement practices on cost management in the public health sector, using Agona Swedru District hospital as a case study. The objectives were to evaluate current ethical procurement practices, identify challenges faced by the hospital, and assess the impact of effective procurement practices on hospital performance. A purposive sampling technique was used to select a sample size of 20 from a population of 70. The findings revealed that the hospital employs ethical practices such as accountability, transparency, and avoiding impropriety. However, challenges persist, including preferential treatment, personal influences, and acceptance of gifts. The study found that enhanced compliance reduces legal risk, increases efficiency, and productivity. Recommendations include avoiding preferential treatment, implementing ethical standards, and engaging in reciprocal information sharing on competitors' quotes. en_US
