This study Examines Technology Adoption in Accommodation Management: A Study at
Gift's Guest Hotel in Koforidua sought to analyze technology adoption on operational
efficiency and guest satisfaction within the hospitality industry. The research employed a
descriptive design, focusing on the employees of Gift Guest Hotel. The total population
consisted of eleven (11) employees, and a census sampling technique was used to collect
data from all participants. Data collection was conducted through structured questionnaires,
which were then analyzed using Predictive Analysis Software (PASW) Version 20.0.
The study's findings indicate that the hotel has partially adopted technology solutions, such
as Property Management Systems (PMS) and Revenue Management Systems (RMS), but
lacks critical technologies like Online Booking Systems (OBS). The integration of these
systems is limited, resulting in reliance on manual processes, which affects operational
efficiency. Staff resistance, budget constraints, and system integration challenges were
identified as the primary barriers to technology adoption.
The study concludes that while technology adoption has a positive impact on guest
satisfaction and operational management, there is significant room for improvement.
Recommendations include investing in staff training, enhancing system integration, and
fostering strong leadership support to overcome resistance to change. This research
contributes to a deeper understanding of technology adoption dynamics in hospitality
management, providing a basis for further studies on the impact of emerging technologies. |
