This study examines the role of hotel growth in the development of the New Juaben South
Municipality, Koforidua, focusing on three main objectives: assessing the economic
contributions of selected hotels to the Eastern Region, evaluating their social impacts, and
identifying the challenges they face. Using a descriptive research design and quantitative
methods, data were collected through questionnaires distributed to a sample of 80 employees
from three hotels—Capital View Hotel, Eastern Premier Hotel, and Bedtime Hotel. The data
were analyzed using SPSS version 23. The findings reveal that these hotels significantly
contribute to the local economy by creating employment, attracting tourists, and enhancing
infrastructure. Additionally, the hotels promote cultural exchange and awareness, fostering cross cultural interactions. To further enhance their contribution to local development, it is
recommended that the hotels strengthen collaborations with local businesses, actively engage in
community events, and support local arts and heritage preservation |
