dc.description.abstract This study attempts to assess the impact of social media usage on student‟s study habits in Koforidua Technical University. Out of hundred (100) copies of questionnaires distributed, eighty (80) were retrieved which represented a response rate of 80%. The quantitative approach was employed to achieve this. The target population were chosen at random, and questionnaires were distributed to respondents by means of convenient sampling technique. The study revealed that most of the of the student of Koforidua Technical University KTU) spend a significant chunk of their day on social media, and stay online longer than anticipated, this makes them struggle to stay in places, where they won‟t be able to access social network sites. The study revealed that most student feel that social media has affected their ability to complete assignments and projects on time, because they are mostly online using social media for fun most of the times, this makes them postpone their academic duties and as a results it affect their learning habits, some student even revealed that they feel like they are addicted to social media. The study discovered that the major social media they use is Facebook. This is because most of the respondents responded very satisfactory to these points. To this end, the researchers recommended that, the use of social media platforms for academic collaboration and communication should be encouraged. Tools like group chats and online study groups can facilitate teamwork, peer support, and sharing of resources. Also, Promote the use of educational content available on social media platforms. Encourage students to follow reputable educational pages, participate in online courses, and engage with academic content relevant to their studies en_US
